WhatsApp with new Call waiting feature

WhatsApp introduced a new update for Android users

WhatsApp users with the updated WhatsApp app can now use the call waiting alert – just like the normal regular call waiting feature.

Since we were using this app for call, we have to disconnect the existing call in order to attend the new call. To use this feature you have to update your WhatsApp app from playstore.

The latest Call waiting update is available for WhatsApp v2.19.352 and above, and v2.19.128 (APK Mirror) of WhatsApp Business. IOS users already have the call waiting feature. 

WhatsApp messenger introduced calling features in the app almost four years ago. Since then, WhatsApp has improved the options with newer features such as group voice calling and ability to switch to video during the call.

This app, until now, didn't had a call waiting functionality. Users received a missed call alert after the call ended while the caller got an engage tone or full ring with no response.

The latest update, will really fix these problems. Receiver now gets an alert that someone is calling during the call and will have the option to end the current call and accept the incoming call. Not only, they can also reject the call as well.

WhatsApp’s call waiting feature, is still yet to be perfect. The app won't give you the option to merge the two calls, like how you can do with regular calls. Still there’s no option to put the existing call on wait and take the incoming call.

Not only the call waiting feature, WhatsApp’s new beta update has three new options such as dark mode according to WABetaInfo (Bloomberg), light theme which will give you a white background and a newer ‘Set by Battery Saver’ option wherein the dark mode is activated on the basis of smartphone’s battery levels and delete message features. This feature will be available only for smartphones running on Android 9.0 or older.
